Finally much hyped and talked Windows 7 hits the market
place today. Microsoft has launched Windows 7 full version to satisfy consumers
which was not the case with Vista. MS got consumers appreciation from beta
version of Windows 7 which they have been distributing from almost more than 6
months.
With the announcement, new PCs will be available from
today on Windows 7 Platform. But, yes, those who are looking for Windows 7 boxes
on the retail stores have to wait for a while as MS is waiting for custom
clearance and soon it will hit the market.
MS simplified computing experience with enhanced
technology with Windows 7. Some key differentiation includes Quick boot time,
Easy home Networking, Managed Thumbnail Preview of task bars icons, Comparison
of document side by side, glass effect, quick launch to desktop with shake,
advanced search feature and one most loved is that it can be uploaded into 512
MB RAM therefore is not memory hungry OS. To cater to the business's concern MS
included some advance security and control features in its latest OS.
Those who bought Vista PC recently have to pay media
charges only for upgrade to Windows 7. "Software is free but media cost is
attached", said Rajan Anandan, MD, Microsoft. But for commercial
customers, those are in enterprise contract with Microsoft are offered free
upgrades.
Windows 7 is available in 6 SKUs providing consumer
some option like Windows 7 Starter for Netbooks, Windows 7 Home, and Windows 7
Home Premium for home user, Windows 7 Professional for SMBs and enterprises and Windows 7 Ultimate for enterprises. Windows 7 starts from Rs approx 2000 for
starter edition and above SKU goes up to 10,000 approx reveal sources though
company has yet to announce the prices.
